<p>The N.C. Coastal Resources Commissionapproved Currituck&#8217;s much-debated land-use plan during its meetings in GreenvilleFriday.</p>
<p><!--endtext--><!--begintext-->But the agency&#8217;s consideration of the planwas in doubt only days before, after Currituck Commission Board Chairman Barry Nelms moved to have it removed from the CRC&#8217;s consideration.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There are several great towns to consider when you are taking a <a href="http://www.sunrealtync.com" title="Outer Banks Vacations" target="_blank">vacation in the Outer Banks</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.outerbanks.com/corolla/" title="Corolla" target="_blank">Corolla</a> is known for its wide, soft sand beaches and an impressive selection of shops, restaurants, recreational activities and historic attractions, all within 5 &#8211; 10 minutes of vacation communities. It&#8217;s located along the northern Outer Banks and is home to more than 100 wild Spanish Mustangs. The horses can be found on 12,000 acres in Corolla, north of populated areas. About 500 permanent residents call the community home.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.outerbanks.com/duck/" title="Duck" target="_blank">Duck</a> offers beautiful, clean beaches, a bike &amp; walking path and an impressive selection of boutique shops and restaurants within walking distance of most communities. Visitors often jog or bike into the village for a morning paper, afternoon shopping or an evening meal. Uncomplicated and free of strip malls, busy multi-lane highways and neon lights, it’s easy to see why people enjoying coming back to Duck year after year.</p>
<p>Only one mile wide by four miles long, the town of <a href="http://www.southernshores.org/" title="Southern Shores" target="_blank">Southern Shores</a> is located between Kitty Hawk and Duck.  It&#8217;s a quaint community that extends across the island from the ocean to the Currituck sound and offers a sound wading area and playground. Popular dining spots and a multi-use walking and cycling path (runs parallel to Highway 12) make it a favorite of Outer Banks residents.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.kitty-hawk.com/" title="Kitty Hawk" target="_blank">Kitty Hawk</a> is located in the geographic center of the Outer Banks, Kitty Hawk offers access to golf, fishing, mini golf, restaurants, nightlife, fine dining, shopping and movies. Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the East and the Albemarle Sound to the West, Kitty Hawk is a water enthusiast’s paradise.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.killdevilhills.com/" title="Kill Devil Hills" target="_blank">Kill Devil Hills</a>, home of the Wright Brothers Memorial has easily-accessed beaches with parking, fishing, crabbing, mini golf, restaurants, night life, fine dining, shopping and movies.</p>
<p>Nags Head was named <a href="http://www.tripadvisor.com/PressCenter-i100-c1-Press_Releases.html" target="_blank">#1 family-friendly beach</a> by TripAdvisor® for 2007. Home of the east coast&#8217;s largest sand dune, the area features attractions, shops, restaurants, night life, water sports and more. Jockey&#8217;s Ridge State Park is the perfect spot to fly kites, hang glide or sand surf. Close to Roanoke Island, historic Manteo and Oregon Inlet.</p>
